Bulk Document Upload
Overview
Upload multiple files or an entire ZIP archive at once. Firm Chambers processes each file, creates document records with version tracking, and enforces your storage quota.
Step 1: Navigate to Bulk Upload
Go to Data Management > Bulk Upload. You will see a drag-and-drop zone.
Step 2: Add Files
Drag and drop files into the upload zone, or click to browse. You can add multiple individual files or a single ZIP archive (up to 500 MB). ZIP files are automatically extracted and the folder structure is preserved.
Step 3: Set Target Client and Case
Optionally select a target client and case. All uploaded documents will be linked to these records, saving you from assigning them individually later.
Step 4: Upload
Click "Upload Files" and monitor the progress. Each file is processed individually — if one file fails (e.g., exceeds size limits), the others continue.
Step 5: Review Results
After upload, you see a summary showing successful, failed, and total files. Failed files include error details (storage limit, unsupported format, etc.).
AI Classification
After uploading, you can trigger AI classification from the review table. The AI analyses each document and suggests a document type, relevant client, case, and description. Review the suggestions and confirm or adjust before finalising.
Tips
- ZIP uploads preserve folder hierarchy — folders in the archive become document folders in Firm Chambers.
- Use bulk upload when migrating from a local file system or external drive.
- Check your storage quota before large uploads to avoid hitting the limit mid-upload.
- AI classification works best with PDF and Word documents that contain readable text.
